In the Wake of the very successful Alberta Winter Games, The Boarding House followed up by hosting The Alberta Snowboard Association’s Snowboard Cross Series on February 20 2016. It was great to see some of the same Athletes from the previous weekend, as well as more local athletes that were not able to ride in the Winter Games. The Event was held on the same course as the Winter Games, so the athletes had raced on it before. This made the riders more aggressive, and despite the ever changing weather conditions, a very fast. Here at the BH, we try to make our events fun for everyone. The Riders, the Parents, even just Snowboarders in general. We had music playing, we had some of our past team riders, from our 20 years, out riding and handing out freebies. It was another great event that reminds me how the sport of Snowboarding brings people together, both in the spirit of competition, and the friendship it creates. It is great to see old friends come together with new friends to make our event amazing. With so much momentum moving in to March, we will be having another Huge event at Hidden Valley. On March 20th, conditions permitting, we will be hosting the Boarding House Winter Park Jam. This will be a freestyle event, format to be determined, that will be held in conjunction with the yearly Hidden Valley Slush Cup. This is the season windup, it gets crazy.
